6. Chemistry Tower viewed from behind Maxwell Building
The photo shows the Chemistry Tower looking impressively tall. One of its defining features was a paternoster lift, which consisted of a chain of open compartments that moved up and down in a loop without stopping. Passengers would have to step on and off depending on which floor they needed.
