Government Authorised Exchange (GAE) visa
A government authorised exchange (GAE) visa allows you to undertake temporary work within the UK, such as work experience and research. You can stay for up to 12 months for work experience, or for up to 24 months for research and training.
Am I eligible for GAE?
You must have a Certificate of Sponsorship reference number, which is provided by the university who acts as your sponsor. You must also be paid at least the national minimum wage as well as sufficient funds to support yourself in the UK.
