Graduation - Gown Hire

Graduates wearing gowns

You need to organise booking your cap and gown at least 3 weeks prior to your ceremony, directly from Ede & Ravenscroft.

There are two options for this; hired for the day of your ceremony (most popular) or purchased.

If hiring your gown, you will collect this from the Quays Theatre which is situated at the Lowry once you have registered at the Media City campus.

Alternatively, you may opt to purchase a gown to keep, which can be posted to an address of your choosing in advance of the ceremony. If purchasing a gown, please ensure this is delivered to a private secure address and do not get it delivered to The University.

On the day, you are advised to wear dark trousers or a skirt under your robes with a buttoned shirt or blouse to secure the hood.

The gown and hood you will be required to wear on the day will differ according to the level of qualification you have achieved. Please click on the appropriate qualification below for a description of the robes you will need to order.
