Chief Infrastructure Officer 

Mark Wantling is the Chief Infrastructure Officer at the University of Salford. With a passion for technology and education, he is dedicated to fostering equity, diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing within the organization.

Mark leads several key initiatives, including the Campus Connectivity Plan, which is helping to create a more accessible and inclusive campus for staff, students, and the local community. He is also involved in the creation of more inclusive learning environments, integrating academic, community, and social spaces to foster a sense of belonging. Mark is instrumental in the university’s digital transformation to improve connectivity, access, digital safety, and collaboration. Through these efforts, he continues to make a positive impact on the University of Salford and beyond. Along with Emma French (Chief Academic Services Officer and University Secretary), Mark currently co-chairs the Gender Equity Group at the University.
