Jackie Njoroge, Chief Strategy and Data Officer
Jackie Njoroge originally joined the University of Salford in 2016 as the institution’s first Director of Strategy. Before joining Salford, her early career was rooted in the steel industry, where she worked in financial planning and management. Transitioning to Higher Education in 2003, Jackie eventually specializing in strategic planning and performance. She later led the Strategic Planning and Management Information team at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), where she played a key role in transforming the university’s strategic planning approach.
Today, Jackie acts as Chief Strategy and Data Officer at the University of Salford, where she has been instrumental in shaping the university’s strategic direction and enhancing its data-driven decision-making capabilities. Her leadership in this area has been recognized with industry accolades, including an award for the implementation of a business intelligence solution at Northumbria University. Jackie is also an active member of the Equity Assurance Committee and Chair of our Health and Safety Committee, which is instrumental in promoting colleague well-being at the university. She has further spoken at several EDI events across the years, including events focusing on the menopause.
