Jackie Njoroge

Chief Strategy and Data Officer

Jackie Njoroge originally joined the University of Salford in 2016 as the institution’s first Director of Strategy. Before joining Salford, her early career was rooted in the steel industry, where she worked in financial planning and management. Transitioning to Higher Education in 2003, Jackie eventually specialized in strategic planning and performance. She later led the Strategic Planning and Management Information team at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), where she played a key role in transforming the university’s strategic planning approach.

Today, Jackie acts as Chief Strategy and Data Officer at the University of Salford, where she has been instrumental in shaping the university’s strategic delivery, enhancing its data-driven decision-making capabilities, and leading on risk management. This work supports our community deliver successful outcomes for our students and create new knowledge through our research. Jackie is also an active member of Senate, and attends council, finance and resources and audit committee. Jackie is passionate about promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion across Higher Education, and has spoken at several EDI events across the years, including events focusing on the menopause.
