Join us throughout July for events, workshops, and challenges that help reduce single-use plastics and inspire real change across campus.

Why Plastic-Free?

Every year, millions of tonnes of plastic end up in our oceans, rivers, and landscapes - damaging wildlife, polluting ecosystems, and contributing to climate change. While recycling helps, most plastics can only be recycled a limited number of times - and many still end up in landfill or incineration.

That's why reducing plastic use is more powerful than just recycling.

Plastic-Free July is about making conscious choices to cut out single-use plastics where we can. Small changes - like switching to reusable bottles, bags, and containers - add up to a big impact when we act together.

By going plastic-free, even for a month, you'll:

  • Reduce your personal waste
  • Support a healthier planet
  • Inspire others to rethink their habits

Take the first step - join our events, follow #PlasticFreeUoS, and discover how simple swaps can lead to lasting change.
