More sustainability initiatives coming to our campus

Multiple wind turbines

At the University of Salford we know that climate change and biodiversity loss are some of the biggest challenges facing our world. As a result The Sustainability Team with the help of your feedback committed to embedding sustainability into everything we do, from how we teach, work, and live, to how we engage with our local and global communities.

Positive student feedback

  • 80% of students said they feel proud of the university’s efforts to reduce its environmental impact.
  • 86% agreed that gaining sustainability knowledge and skills is important during their studies.

Student-led insights

  • In 2024, the Sustainability Team hosted a series of student voice workshops in which you told us sustainability efforts need to be more visible and there should be more varied ways to get involved.
