What's On During Postgraduate Discovery Month?
We’ll have a variety of events and sessions tailored to master’s (MA, MSc, PgDip/Cert) and doctoral (PhD, MSc by Research, MPhil) level study. Whether you’re looking to visit our campus or join us virtually, there will be something for everyone.
Postgraduate Open Day
For master's and doctoral level study
One of the main events in Postgraduate Discovery Month is our Postgraduate Open Day, taking place on campus on Wednesday 25 February 2026, from 12:30 to 18:00. Enjoy informative talks, campus tours, academic sessions, and more. It’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in university life and learn how we can help you achieve your goals.
Meet the tutors
For master's level study
We’ll also be hosting subject-specific sessions giving you the opportunity to speak to our tutors across our schools, so you can delve deeper into your area of interest. These sessions are a fantastic opportunity to ask questions, explore course content, and discover how our programmes can help you achieve your goals.

Online information sessions
For master's and doctoral level study
Can’t make it to campus? No problem! Our online sessions will offer a range of recorded and live events designed to cover every aspect of postgraduate study.
We'll be offering sessions with general advice about postgraduate study, including:
- The student application process (including CAS and visas)
- Navigating fees and funding options
- Academic and student life at Salford
Campus tours
For master's and doctoral level study
Can't make our Open Day? Join a student-led, guided campus tour at our Peel Park, Frederick Road, or MediaCity campuses (depending on your course of interest). Campus tours take place during Discovery Month and throughout the year. Explore our facilities and see where your studies could take you.

Arts, Media and Creative Technology courses
Considering a postgraduate study in Fine Art? Join representatives from MA Contemporary Fine Art and Castlefield Gallery to learn about studying at the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology.

Open Eye Gallery are hosting a hybrid MA open day event, so you can find out more about MA Socially Engaged Photography and MA Socially Engaged Arts Practice courses at the University of Salford.

Join us at dock10 Studios, MediaCity and meet course leaders from MA Drama Production for TV, Film and Digital Media, MA Documentary Production for TV, Film and Digital Media, MA Editing TV, Film and Digital Media and MA Production Management for TV, Film and Digital Media. You'll also be able to hear from alumni now working in the industry, network with future collaborators, and take part in a guided tour of one of the UK’s leading television studios. There's no need to book!
