From Tuesday 6 April to Friday 9 April, the event will feature Salford Business School Masters and PhD students engaging with guest speakers and industry experts from international organisations.

Organisations include Rolls Royce, Porsche, Petroleum Technology Development Fund, University of Warsaw and the University of Qatar.

It will give students the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about employability, international cross cultures and PhD research in a global context.

Dr Tahir Rashid, International Lead at the Business School, said: “We want to encourage students to explore international opportunities post-graduation.

“This isn’t something they would usually think about, so the idea is to prompt that initial interest and let them engage with international experts and Salford students to understand first-hand what working globally is like.”

The week will be split into two parts, with Tuesday and Wednesday focusing on employability and cross-cultural awareness, and Thursday and Friday focusing on a collaboration with the CIRCLE Business Perspective international research conference.

Tahir added: “The Global Week, as part of the Business School’s internationalisation strategy, aims to provide our students international exposure required to become a truly global graduate.”

Laura Becerra, International Exchange & Partnership Coordinator at the Business School, said: “This whole thing was set up in response to what the students have been asking for. They’re really desperate to connect with each other and they haven’t had much opportunity to do so since studying online.

“The purpose of this is to build up the employability prospective around that. We are hoping the week will be a success so we can build on it and make it an annual event.”
