Studying nursing at Salford
Nursing is much more than a job. You can make a difference in people’s lives by bringing comfort, promoting health, and saving lives. If you want to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care, our nursing Clearing courses are for you.
You can focus on the area of nursing that matters most to you. We offer degree courses in adult nursing, mental health nursing, and a Nursing Associate direct entry route.
During your nursing Clearing degree, you’ll spend 50% of your placement in hospital and community settings across both the NHS and private settings, and for voluntary organisations. This might include working in wards, health centres, detention centres, care homes, or hospitals. You’ll learn in well-supported environments alongside qualified practice assessors and supervisors.
Nursing facilities
On our nursing degree Clearing courses, you’ll access clinical rooms where you can practise essential procedures, from taking blood to delivering emergency CPR.
Housed in the Mary Seacole building, our clinical practice wards and simulation suite recreate the look and feel of real hospital environments. You'll work in adult bays, treatment rooms, and a midwifery labour room – practising scenarios you’ll encounter in your career.
The patient simulation lab allows you to respond to realistic situations in a safe, supportive setting. High‑tech patient simulators mimic everything from the common cold to a major heart condition, helping you build confidence before you step into placement.
