Conditional and unconditional offers
Find out what conditional and unconditional offers mean, how they are made, and what they could mean for your next steps at the University of Salford.
If the University of Salford offers you a place, your offer will usually be conditional or unconditional.
Your offer is specific to you, so read it carefully. It will explain whether you need to meet any conditions and what to do next.
Conditional offers
A conditional offer means we would like to offer you a place, but you must meet certain requirements before we can confirm it.
For example, you may need to:
- achieve particular grades or UCAS Tariff points
- pass a specific qualification
- meet an English language requirement
- provide evidence of your qualifications
- meet another requirement stated in your offer
Some courses may also have professional or non-academic requirements, such as an occupational health assessment or Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Unconditional offers
An unconditional offer means you have met the requirements needed for admission. This may be because you have already achieved the required qualifications or have been assessed in another way, such as through an interview, audition or portfolio.
You should still read your offer carefully. In some circumstances, you may need to meet non-academic requirements before you can register.
