About the Spaces

Theatre

A large theatre that can be configured with different seating layouts. Ideal for performances and lectures.

The theatre also makes large conferences at Salford possible. The New Adelphi Theatre is an excellent plenary space with the 6 lecture theatres next door in the Chapman Building making ideal break out spaces. The Atrium area will house a café whist leaving ample space for exhibition stands and networking.

Atrium/ Exhibition Area

The large open Atrium space will house a café but also have plenty space to host an exhibition. The Atrium would also make an excellent choice for a drinks’ reception.

Lecture Theatres

The Chapman Building has been thoroughly refurbished and modernised- inside and out. The 6 new modern lectures theatres seat between 100 and 278 delegates. They are excellent spaces for stand- alone events and also work perfectly as break out spaces for larger conferences using the large theatre in New Adelphi as a plenary space.

The lecture theatres are all equipped with the very latest technology and large screen displays.

Classrooms

The Chapman complex houses 3 classrooms, 2 of which can be joined to form one large room seating 40 delegates.

Computer Suites

We have a variety of sized PC suites for hire to be used for training courses.

TV Studios

Our creative studio spaces include two industry standard HD TV studios including a green screen. These could be a great addition to your event – film interviews with your guests or even broadcast your event live as it happens.

As part of our on- going vision to produce highly employable graduates, by making use of these studios you will have access to our undergraduate and postgraduate students (fully supervised by University of Salford staff and technicians) who will be there to support your project. This could be from simple work shadowing to filming, direction and producing.

There are two fully functioning state of art TV studios, possibly the highest specification education studios in Europe.

These are equivalent to those used by industry including BBC, ITV and Sky. Features include:

  • Full 1080 HD cameras and video systems with 5.1 surround sound mixing
  • Fully virtual 3D sets and Green Screen systems
  • Selection of world class audio and visual systems as used by the BBC, Sky and ITV
  • Sound treated studios

As part of our on- going vision to produce highly employable graduates, by making use of these studios you will have access to our undergraduate and postgraduate students (fully supervised by University of Salford staff and technicians) who will be there to support your project. The three state-of-the-art radio studios can actually create broadcast material with equipment as used by the BBC. They are capable of being linked to every other audio room in the building, which could facilitate outside sources such as live bands performing within the TV studios.
