Our construction facilities

Our carefully designed studios and study spaces have been created to provide an inspiring environment to develop ideas in. Our state-of-the-art facilities also include THINKlab – a futuristic research environment used for smart city applications, collaborative engineering, and interactive learning – and heavy structures lab. Here, you'll get hands-on experience in large-scale structural testing using industrial-standard equipment and understand real-world engineering challenges, improve your design skills, and develop practical expertise.

BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management degree student Mitchell Bowden is the latest in a line of Salford students who will be joining Morgan Sindall Construction in a permanent role after successfully completing a placement year:

"I’ve really enjoyed the real-life working experience. The placement has allowed me to put into practice everything that the university has taught me. Morgan Sindall Construction is heavily involved in lectures at Salford, and as part of one of my modules I gave a presentation to one of the company directors. When I applied for the placement role, I was lucky enough to be interviewed by the same director on my assessment day. I was then offered a position to work on the construction site for a new building on campus.”
