What is an ILM qualification?

How long does the qualification take?

ILM qualifications take a varied amount of time depending on the level you undergo. With some courses taking 30 - 600 hours to complete.

What’s the difference between ILM 5 and ILM 7 qualifications?

An ILM Level 5 qualification is equivalent to a Diploma of Higher Education and is well suited to middle managers, and practising coaches with aspirations of becoming more senior. An ILM Level 7 qualification is equivalent to Postgraduate Certificates, Diplomas or Masters degrees. It is best suited to senior leaders, CEOs, and executives.

What is the cost for an ILM qualification?

The cost for ILM qualifications vary depending on levels and length of time. Our ILM qualifications start from only £1995 + VAT.

How can ILM qualification points be used towards degree-level qualifications?

When undertaking an ILM qualification you will gain credits which can be transferred to qualifications at the same level. If you wish to transfer these to a higher level qualification it would be at the decision of the awarding body providing that course. For the ILM Level 7 Certificates delegates will receive 20 credits. This can be transferred to a Master’s degree in Business Administration which is 180 credits and, at the awarding body’s discretion, will not need to complete the leadership module on the course.

What is an ILM qualification equivalent to?

We offer both ILM Level 5 and 7 courses at Salford Professional Development. Level 5 ILM’s being equivalent to a Diploma of Higher Education, Year 2 of an undergraduate degree, Higher National Diploma (HND) or a BTEC Diploma. Level 7 ILM’s are equivalent to Postgraduate Certificates, Diplomas or Masters degrees.

Can you take an ILM qualification online?

ILM qualifications can be taken both online and in person. Our courses have the option to be taken remotely or on campus at the University of Salford to suit whatever you prefer.

Is an ILM a professional qualification?

Yes. An ILM qualification is from the Institute of Leadership and Management and are awarded by the City and Guilds of London Institute, incorporated by Royal Charter. Following completion of ILM courses you will receive a certificate of your achievements which will be recognised globally.

Can you add an ILM qualification to your CV?

Yes ILM qualifications can be added to your CV. In order to do this you will need to create a section for Certificates, listing the course name and accreditation under, along with relevant skills learned on the course.
