Biography

I joined University of Salford, School of Computing, Science and Engineering, in 2015 as a Lecturer in Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering before which I worked at University of East London since March 2013 as a lecturer and senior lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering. I stared at University of East London immediately after completing my PhD in (Geotechnical) Engineering at University of Exeter which was fully funded by the prestigious Exeter Research Scholarship (ERS) award. I have been involved in teaching and research activities including research proposals to attract internal and external funding. I have supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research students and projects. My research works have so far been published in the form of journal and conference publications as well as book chapters and were part of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 submission. I am also member of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), institution of civil engineers, British geotechnical association and a number of other professional associations/societies.

- Compaction characteristics of soils

- Liquefaction in clay-free sands and silt deposits

- Compressed air tunneling

- Load bearing capacity of piles

Stability analysis of 2D & 3D slopes under seismic loading

Swelling potential and swelling control in expansive soils (considering soil reinforcement effects including effect of auxetic, non-biodegradable industrial wastes and natural reinforcing materials)

Aquifer systems (Seawater intrusion)
