School of
Arts & Media
Welcome to the School of Arts & Media, one of the UK’s largest and most successful higher education providers in the subject areas of creative arts and media. Salford was at the heart of the Industrial Revolution in the 19th Century and with the development of MediaCityUK, is now the leading centre for the creative, digital and media industries. Located minutes from Manchester, students will enjoy a unique learning experience, studying in the largest national hub for the creative industries outside of London alongside the BBC and a host of other creative companies at MediaCityUK and our main campus.
As a school of approximately 3,500 creative students, we offer an exciting and stimulating environment in which to study and develop professionally, with courses ranging from Fashion Image Making and Styling, Creative Technology, Graphic Design and Popular Music to Broadcast Journalism, Wildlife Documentary, Animation and our new undergraduate degree in Comedy Practices.
Dresses to impress
Internet fashion store Little Black Dress gave students just 5 weeks to design and produce a range of one-off dresses ideal for the Christmas and New Year party season.
