Jennifer Klunder


Jennifer Klander is an adult nurse, with background predominantly in peri-operative care.  Her specialty is trauma, emergency and major trauma surgery, and until recently Jennifer was the trauma Sister in a local Major Trauma Centre. She has also worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Surgical Triage, and in Burns surgery. Jennifer also has an MSc in Public Health, with research interests in the field of Global Health and Trauma surgery.


Jennifer is currently teaching on the C16 undergraduate nursing programme and on the Public Health, Global health and Developing Evidence Base for Practice modules. e.g. bullet points of short summary of teaching / modules you lead / other responsibilities

Research Interests

Research interests are in global health, trauma surgery and safe surgery and to extend on her knowledge in this field Jennifer is currently in the process of applying for her PhD with Knowledg and Change research group.The PhD will be an in depth evaluation looking at safe surgery training, asepsis, and iatrogenic blood transfusion in Uganda.
