Our building at MediaCityUK provides a transdisciplinary research and innovation environment, driving forward the boundaries of knowledge at the heart of a globally significant digital and creative cluster. We seek to impact on people’s lives through pro-active collaboration with industry, communities and researchers from other universities in the UK and overseas. We believe that the best knowledge is created when passionate people work together across traditional boundaries to invent solutions to real-world problems.
The research work at MediaCityUK draws on the expertise of over 40 research centres across 10 academic schools. Our research actively seeks to include business, whether that is large corporate partners such as Adobe, Avid, BT, Cisco and the BBC, or a host of smaller companies, particularly those in the digital and creative industries who want to co-create new ideas, products and services in a neutral open innovation environment.
We have strong links to community groups, and a key area of our research and innovation is aimed at developing a deeper understanding of how novel digital tools and platforms can positively impact on individuals and society.
