Start your journey
Although you might not currently be able to access your studies as you normally would on campus, the following information is relevant to you.
We’ve added lots of information to these pages to help you start your journey with us. Here you will find information about how to prepare for studying at Salford like receiving your student finance, sorting out your accommodation, registering as a student, how to get to campus and where you can find more information about the events and activities we have for welcome.
Additional information on covid testing
We’re working with the government to provide tests to students who are required to be on campus as part of your course, live in accommodation on or near campus, or if you need to access campus facilities.
If you are studying on campus as part of an exempt course or using campus facilities such as the Library or on-campus accommodation, please be tested regularly.
- Take two lateral flow tests (LFT), three days apart every week. These can be booked for on-campus in the Sports Centre or at MediaCityUK or a home test from the government ordered online or picked up at a local pharmacy.
- The on-campus LFTs are taken in the mass testing centre in the Sports Centre or at MediaCityUK campus, bookable via your Advantage account.
- We advise you to book both tests at once. Appointments for tests are available weekdays.
- If you test positive to any test, please book a PCR test through the NHS, follow national guidance and self-isolate for 10 days. You should also let us know that you are self-isolating.
For students beginning their studies via online delivery: We will assess the situation at the point of you coming on to campus and advise you at that stage what testing may be required.
For international students starting either online or on campus - you can find more information about Covid-19 testing on our FAQ page.
