What will happen at the online Open Day?
At our online Open Day you’ll get to explore everything you'd expect to find at an on-campus Open Day, only delivered online instead.
Activities will include course talks, Q&As with our students, campus tours, talks about accommodation, and sessions about student life at Salford. Plus, we’ll be hosting sessions on how to fund your studies and how to write an impactful personal statement.
If you’re applying from overseas, don’t miss the talks by our international office. They’ll tell you everything you need to know about the application process, entry requirements, post-study work visas, and scholarships.
We're proud of our campus and our Open Days usually feature a host of student ambassadors leading campus tours throughout the day.
For our online Open Day experience in November, we'll be offering online tours so that you can get a feel for our campus without leaving your front door.
In the upcoming weeks and months, we will also be offering more campus tours - some of these will be online and some will be in person on our campus. We are still confirming the details, but you can find out more information and register your interest here.
If you just can't wait until then, check out the video below for a quick look around campus:
Situated just 2km from Manchester city centre, we think we have the best of both worlds: plenty of green space around us with the hustle and bustle of the city just a 20-minute walk away. We also have great transport links, with our on-campus train station, Salford Crescent, connecting you to the city centre and beyond.
Need some more info?
We're here to help support you and answer and questions you may have. Get in touch with our friendly team on email@example.com or +44 (0)161 295 4545. Alternatively, take a look at the FAQs below.
How does the online Open Day work?
About a week before the event we’ll send you a link to the event hub where you’ll be able to see everything that’s happening and plan how you want to spend your day.
On the day, you’ll check-in virtually and be directed to our website, where you will find all of the activities taking place throughout the day.
Can I come to a face-to-face event later in the year?
We hope so! If you join our online Open Day, we’ll make sure you’re invited to an on-campus event as soon as possible. We’re hoping to host some onsite campus tours soon. However, these won’t have any course-specific element to them, so make sure you ask any questions you have about our courses at the online Open Day.
Are all courses represented at the online Open Day?
Our Open Days are your chance to get more information about the courses taught on our campus. If you are interested in studying a course delivered at one of our partner colleges, which are Salford City College and Hopwood Hall College, you will find details of their upcoming Open Days on their websites.
Courses taught at partner colleges:
- BSc (Hons) Psychology (first year taught at Salford City College)
- BSc (Hons) Psychology and Criminology (first year taught at Salford City College)
- FdA Media Make-Up for Fashion (taught at Salford City College)
- FdA Media Production (taught at Salford City College)
- FdSc Business and Management (taught at Salford City College)
- FdSc Sports Coaching and Performance Analysis (taught at Hopwood Hall College)
Who can attend an Open Day?
Our November Open Day is primarily aimed at those interested in starting university in 2021.
What time does my event start?
Our Open Days normally run from 09:30 to 16:00, but you’ll receive more details after booking your place.
Can family and friends join me?
Of course! Choosing a university is a big decision, so we’d absolutely encourage anyone who is supporting you to get involved and attend some of the sessions.
What tech do I need on the day?
For the best experience, we’d recommend accessing the event using Google Chrome on a laptop or desktop computer. You don’t need a microphone or a camera to take part.
Do you have support for students with a disability?
You can let us know about your access requirements when you book onto our Open Days. We’ll then work with you to do everything we can to support you. You will also be able to have a one-to-one appointment with our disability and wellbeing team on the day.
If you would like to check our campus for its accessibility, we have worked closely with AccessAble (the leading provider of access information for disabled people in the UK) to produce an assessment of our campus and facilities. This work has provided detailed information about our access; find out more about their assessment of our campus and facilities.
Please contact disability and learner support for study related support.
An update on Covid-19
We are following the Government and Public Health England’s guidance on Covid-19 closely, and as this is an ever-changing situation, we cannot currently say with certainty whether all of our upcoming events will be taking place on campus.
Once you have booked or registered your interest in any of our events, we will email you with updates, so please keep a close eye on your emails.
If you are applying from overseas, you can find lots of useful information on our FAQ page for prospective international students.
