Plan your journey
The University of Salford is located across three campuses, Peel Park, Frederick Road and MediaCity. Although we have multiple campuses travelling here couldn't be easier, with transport links connecting our campuses to Manchester city centre and beyond.
Open Day Travel Bursary
To make it easier for you to visit us, we're offering a travel bursary to offset some of the cost of travelling to your Open Day. You'll receive it after attending the Open Day (subject to a few, basic restrictions, of course) and most attendees will be eligible.
Our travel bursary is based on how far you’re travelling to the Open Day and there are five different payment bands. The minimum amount is £15 for those with a shorter journey, up to a maximum contribution of £120 for those travelling from further afield. Please note that payment is made to the prospective student only, not for each person attending the event.
We know that the cost of living is having a widespread impact and our Open Day Travel Bursary scheme aims to make a contribution to the cost of your travel rather than cover your costs entirely. We’ll provide more information about how it all works a little closer to the event.
You will need a UK bank account to receive a travel bursary payment.
How long does the event last?
The event runs from 10:00 - 16:00, but the length of your day depends on what you’d like to do. We recommend you attend a Welcome to Salford talk, your Course Session and a Campus Tour, and any of the Application Support and Student Support sessions that you’re interested in.
Can my parent/carer/supporter attend the event?
Yes! Parents, carers and supporters are welcome to attend with you. Make sure they sign up to our newsletter as well.
Can I change my booking?
Yes, if you booked on to the 4 November event and were not able to make it, you can amend your booking to the 13 January event. Please reply to the email we have sent you and we can change your booking for you.
Do you have prayer rooms on campus?
The University does have a Faith Centre although this will not be open during the event. However, our check-in team will be able to help you find the closest available space.
Do I need to pay for car parking for the open day?
Free car parking is available for the Open Day on Peel Park and Frederick Road campuses. There is no free parking available at MediaCity however, we are operating a free shuttle bus from our main campus, so you can take advantage of the free parking there.
Do you have support for students with a disability?
Yes. If you have a disability, please contact us to discuss your access requirements. We’ll then work with you to do everything we can to support you on the day. The askUS team will also be available throughout the Open Day to discuss the support available to you throughout your time studying at Salford.
You can check our campus for its accessibility using AccessAble's assessment of our campus and facilities.
You can also find out more about accessibility on campus and the Disability Inclusion team on our website.
We do offer a range of accessible accommodations although, please be aware that for this event you may not be able to view the rooms due to current occupancy. You are welcome to chat with both the Disability and Learner Support team and Campus Living Village staff about the facilities available.
