Calling all STEMinists*!

We’re proud to invite YOU to the first of our Salford STEMinists event.

*n. A person that believes in gender equality within Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths at the University of Salford

If you are already studying or are intending to study on STEM programmes here at Salford University such as, Engineering, Sciences, Technology, Computing, Construction or Architecture this is a must attend to meet your STEMinist network.

Grab this opportunity to find out more about the exciting research our staff and students are working on, meet new people, build your network, learn new skills, and develop your career.  You will also get a chance to explore laser cutting with the Morson Maker Space workshop.

  • A warm welcome by Prof. Sheila Pankhurst, Dean of the School Environment and Life Sciences
  • Francine Morris, Head of Athena SWAN on the importance of ‘Women in STEM’
  • Prof. Haifa Takruri-Rizk MBE, Associate Dean Engagement in the School of Computing, Science and Engineering will showcase how her programme inspires females of all ages to follow careers in STEM
  • Select group of brilliant STEM staff and students will introduce you to their areas of research and study
  • Networking over drinks and nibbles
