The Survivors Ball
The Survivors Ball is being held in aid of The Survivors Trust charity on 28th September 2018 at The National Football museum from 7:30-1:00am.
The Survivors Trust charity supports anyone who has been a victim of rape or sexual abuse or assault. The statistics for rape, sexual abuse and assault are constantly increasing and they are not easy to comprehend, it has been estimated that approximately 85,000 women and 12,000 men are raped in England and Wales alone every year. Some cases are also not reported and this is an overview estimate, yet the numbers are horrifically high.
This event has been organised by our students as they think it is very important to use your voice for what you strongly believe in and support. The Survivors Trust charity works with students who are victims which is something that is very hard to talk about and come to terms with. Therefore, hosting this event will allow the charity to become familiar and known across the public allowing victims to seek help if they have previously felt they cannot reach out. Our students cannot just sit back and let this continue and watch the statistics increase. From students to the elderly, the charity can help.
This event will also allow everyone to come together to raise money for an amazing charity which has helped so many and will continue to help more. There will be performances from singers, dancers and comedians and a silent auction accompanied by canapes and beverages.
