Social Work graduate won £500 of High Street Vouchers
Social Work graduate Sharon Meakin won £500 of High Street Vouchers for completing this year’s Destinations of Leaver’s of Higher Education (DLHE) survey. Sharon says she completed it online when she received the email invitation.
DLHE was a national survey, which all universities were obliged to conduct on behalf of the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). It was used to find out what graduates were doing six months after leaving university. Graduates answered questions about their employment circumstances and whether they had gone on to further study.
Sharon said winning the voucher was “Such a nice surprise. I desperately need a new cooker and to win this £500 will enable me to purchase one.” The MSc Social Work graduate, was selected at random from everyone who completed the 2017-18 DLHE survey from January to May this year. The 52-year-old from Warrington is now employed as a Social Worker for Elyseum Healthcare and says of her time at Salford “I decided that I needed to undertake a social work qualification in order to further my career. I am very grateful for all the support from all the staff at Salford University”.
In the future, everyone who receives an award from the University of Salford will be asked to complete the Graduate Outcomes survey at around 15 months after their programme ends. HESA will conduct this survey on behalf of all UK institutions and the data will be used by various newspapers in their league tables. The most used and well known league table is the Times Good University Guide which rates universities across a range of measures including Graduate Prospects. Graduate Outcomes will account for 25% of the score in the Times Subject League Tables.
The university currently offers a £500 prize each year as an incentive to complete Graduate Outcomes. For a chance to win next year’s £500 prize, keep an eye on @UoSCareers for updates on when you will be required to complete #GraduateOutcomes and make sure your contact details are up to date.
You too could win £500 for just ten minutes of your time.
