PAUSE for Estranged students
PAUSE (People at University Separated or Estranged) is a safe space where you can truly go to without fear of judgment you are only invited with acceptance. It’s wonderful to sit in a room with people who truly resonate with how you are feeling.
Event name: PAUSE for Estranged students
Date: Every Wednesday
Venue: Harold Riley Room, University House
Come and find more about this group that meets weekly throughout the year (at this time and place), run by students who are at university with little, no, or negative support from their families, for students in the same situation as them. This is an informal drop in session and refreshments will be available. We want to grow this group so that it can make it easier for students who are estranged from their families to thrive at uni, but we need your help to do this.
The University of Salford is proud to be a founding university of the Stand Alone Pledge, which breaks down barriers for estranged students coming to university. PAUSE is an essential part of making this happen. More about the pledge can be found here.
The University has a dedicated member of staff for estranged students that can help with all aspects of coming to university. You can make an appointment with them at the estranged student webpage
