National Student Money Week

It’s National Student Money Week 12th – 16th February!

This year’s theme is ‘Where I Live’ and we know that, for many students, it is common to struggle financially during their time at university especially when it comes to housing and paying rent! Throughout National Student Money Week the Money Advice & Funds Service will be here to support you with budgeting tips, advice and activities to get involved with.

Created by the National Association of Student Money Advisers (NASMA), National Student Money Week intends to raise awareness of financial capability among students and with support from the Students Union, Salfood and Santander it’s set to be a great week!

Throughout the week we will be in Clifford Whitworth Library daily between 10am – 3pm, where staff from the Money Advice and Funds Service will be available to talk to students about issues regarding their finances. We also have some great activities taking place all week:

Wednesday 14th Feb – Managing Your Money & Fraud Prevention Workshop. We’ve paired up with Santander to bring you this information packed workshop delivered by specialists to help you navigate the world of finance! An opportunity to get some great advice from our finance experts as well as invaluable tips on how to keep your finances safe (& lots of freebies to take away!). Book your place here

Thursday 15th Feb - 10AM-1PM Manchester Students Homes Find-a-home event. Are you starting to think about where you might live next academic year? Not sure what’s available or how to go about bagging the perfect pad? The wonderful team from Manchester Student Homes will be on hand in Clifford Whitworth Library to answer any questions and give you some top tips and things to avoid when finding somewhere to live.

There will also be competitions, freebies, and chances to have your say on important housing matters including taking part in the Housing Survey run by the Students Union.
