Mental Health Awareness Week

COME & JOIN the range of different events during Mental Health Awareness Week for students!

MONDAY, 14th MAY

12pm-2pm Wellbeing Stand @ Outside the B’hive, Allerton Building       Come to the Wellbeing Stand and have an informal chat with staff from University support services, external services and the Nursing society.
12.15pm-12.45pm MX4 Group Exercise Class @ Functional Training Suite, Sports Centre       This fun exercise class will be provided by Team Salford and will look to address the four pillars of fitness – endurance, strength, power and cardio! An excellent way of getting active and meeting new people.
5pm - 7pm Hot Chocolate Evening @ Delaney Kitchen and John Lester Social Room       Meet with Campus Living Village staff for hot chocolate and activities.   Make sure you bring your mug so you can help yourself to hot chocolate with all the trimmings!  We’ve also got word colouring and Lego. For residents of Salford Campus Living Villages only.
6pm – 6:45pm Pilates Sampling Sessions for Campus Living Residents @ Peel park quarter, Delaney Courtyard       Meet Team Salford and The Students’ Union who will be offering the popular exercise class which consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance!

TUESDAY, 15th MAY

5pm-7pm Hot Chocolate Evening Chocolate @ Delaney Kitchen and John Lester Social Room Meet with Campus Living Village staff for hot chocolate and activities.   Make sure you bring your mug so you can help yourself to hot chocolate with all the trimmings!  We’ve also got word colouring and Lego.  For residents of Salford Campus Living Villages only.

12pm-1pm Laughter Session! Exploring how laughter improves your wellbeing @ University House       Come join us to learn about laughter therapy and how laughter therapy can improve your wellbeing! Fun laughter exercises provided by Feel Good Communities in collaboration with the Counselling and Wellbeing Service. Come have a laugh with us!

THURSDAY, 17th MAY

10am-12pm Wellbeing Drop-in @ Clifford Whitworth Library       Meet with the Counselling and Wellbeing service for an informal chat to get to know what services they offer.
12.15pm-12:45pm Salfit Class @ the Sports Hall         The Salfit class involves short high intensity 30 minute workout. It incorporates bodyweight and resistance training, within a format designed to increase your metabolic function, and physical endurance level. This is a great way to burn fat and increase your general fitness level! Provided by Team Salford.

2pm–11pm End of year event @ Outside University House       Join the Students’ Union at the Soultronic tent for music, relaxing activities such as glitter face painting and colouring.

EVERY WEEKDAY DURING EXAM PERIOD

8am-12pm Atmosphere Café is open till midnight every weekday during the exam period. @Atmosphere Kitchen & Bar       Students are welcome to come to the Atmosphere Café.

MONDAY 14th - FRIDAY 18th

Mobile Union @ Clifford Whitworth Library       The Students’ Union will be in the library during Mental Health Awareness week, giving away Exam Stress Survival Packs, Wellbeing Guides and fresh fruit and water!
