The Vice Chancellor’s Fun Run

The Vice Chancellor’s Fun Run returns on Wednesday 22nd May for its 9th installment supporting on campus KidsCan.

KidsCan are a Children’s Cancer Research Charity and have provided support to students and academic colleagues supporting their research in to children’s cancers and one day a cure.  The money raised by the Fun Run is invested right here in Salford.  

Helen Marshall said, “I am really pleased to once again present the 5K Fun Run supporting KidsCan! Through sport and wellbeing activities we are able to come together for a great cause and create a great sense of community on campus. I look forward to taking part in the new route this year taking advantage of the Peel Park developments.  I am also hoping that now the date is a little later the weather will finally be on our side. I look forward to seeing you at the start line”

Participating in the Fun Run is a great way to take a break from your busy day, participate in exercise and raise money for charity.  Daley O’Neal from the University Sports Centre who co-organises the event said, “Each year the event generates a fantastic buzz on campus, everyone that engages with the VC 5K, whether that’s participating in the race, or turning up to support colleagues and making a small donation, all contribute to making this such an impactful event”

The course supports all abilities and you are able to can run, jog or walk the distance – race at your own pace!  We will once again have a random prize drawn for one lucky participant provided by KidsCan! Also, each runner will receive a KidsCan running vest for the event.

Once again, Shock Radio will be on hand to get your ready for the race or entertain you while you wait for the runners to return.

To participate in the VCs Fun Run there is an entry fee of £8.00 for University colleagues and members of the Community, or £5.00 for students visit to order your ticket today.  Why not set up a JustGiving page or collection too additional sponsorship for participating in the race.
