The Christie and the future of cancer care
Date: Thursday 4 April
Time: 18:30 - 20:30
Venue: Lady Hale Lecture Theatre, Lady Hale Building
Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer and together, different forms of cancer are responsible for almost a third of all deaths registered in the UK. However, increases in early detection and revolutions in cancer treatment mean that cancer survival rates have doubled in the UK over the last 40 years and they continue to improve.
In this lecture, Salford alumnus and CEO of The Christie, Roger Spencer will discuss the role of The Christie in tackling the burden of cancer as the largest single-site cancer centre in Europe. He will share their plans to be a leader in cancer care that not only provides the best outcomes and best experience to patients, relatives, carers and staff, but that also leads research developments in cancer care nationally and internationally.
The lecture will be followed by drinks and there will be an opportunity for networking.
We look forward to seeing you there.
