Smoking shelters at Allerton
At the University of Salford, we’re committed to making our campus as healthy and welcoming as possible for everyone who visits, works and studies here.
To help achieve this, following discussion with the School of Health Sciences and the School of Health and Society, the smoking shelter between Allerton Building and Brian Blatchford Building will be removed from Monday 19 February. This means that students, staff and visitors arriving at Allerton building won’t be exposed to second hand smoke unnecessarily.
There’s another smoking shelter a short distance away, to the right of the building next to the main car park – follow the blue line from the old shelter to the red mark:
We’re working on improving the locations of our smoking shelters so they’re convenient for smokers while taking into account the needs of non-smokers. We’ll be back in touch with another update later in the year.
There are so many reasons to stop smoking: for your health, for your family and to save money.
If you would like help to stop smoking there are a number of groups and support services that you can access in your local area. To find out more see our askUS webpages.
