Printing setting change to make University more sustainable
Did you know 1,667 trees worth of printing was produced at Salford in 2017-18?
The Green Impact Team from the School of Envrionment & Life Sciences suggested that this figure would drop significantly if the default printing setting was changed to ‘double-sided’.
Following a rigorous consultation process with stakeholders, The Library, who run the University’s printing service, has decided to accept this proposal. Digital IT has now delivered this change.
Students and staff wanting to use ‘single-sided printing’, will need to click file, click ‘print on both sides’ and finally click ‘print one-sided’.
