Jam-packed day of activities will officially launch new £6.2 million library
Our new £6.2 million library will be officially launched on Thursday 3rd May with the help of a hook-a-duck stall and an inflatable bungee run!
As well as the exciting outdoor activities, indoors there will be a picnic where you can sit down and enjoy a free cake and drink.
The refurbishment of the library celebrated its central position in Peel Park by bringing the outside inside with deckchairs, green carpets and pavilions, and all the day’s events will follow this park theme.
University Librarian David Clay said that the space has been completely transformed over the last two years to take the different learning needs of our students into consideration.
He said: “The refurbishment has completely transformed our library to let people learn in the way that suits them best. This event should be a really fun way to celebrate the end of that transformation.”
Ahead of the launch day, we want you to take a picture of the inside/outside of the new library and share it using #salfordunipics. A judging panel will select two winners on the day to win a £30 Amazon voucher.
The refurbishment of the library was completed this January giving you 250 more study spaces, 75 more PCs and ten more study rooms.
