Manchester Camerata: Hidden Histories
Hidden Histories was a music educational project delivered by Edsential Musical Routes and Manchester Camerata as a way to embed creative music-making within school whilst also exploring the rich diverse tapestry of classical music, showing that how you look or who you are shouldn’t be a barrier to what you want to do in life.
Working with RPS composer James B. Wilson and Camerata musicians, pupils from Cheshire West and the Wirral have written entirely new music inspired by composers who have previously been overlooked due to their skin colour, ethnicity or gender.
Studio Salford shot these special performances during difficult times with social distancing and covid compliance at the forefront of everyone’s minds. This made shooting in the venue difficult given the limited space on location, however, the final piece was a great success. The shoot was done at 80 HERTZ Studios at The Sharp Project. We also provided the edit, which can be seen on the video below.
