I have been a Lecturer at the Univeristy of Salford for over 18 years, initially in the School of Hospitality, Leisure and Food Management, then in the Salford Business School and the School of the Built Environement, then more recently as part of the Salford Languages unit. In addition to my work at Salford, i have taught at The Manchester College, Bury College, and Manchester Metropolitan Univeristy.

I am currntly the Englsh for Academic Purposes Programme Leader and coordinate the LEAP an EAP Higher provision.


I am currently teaching on the LEAP and LEAP Higher programmes. These are a series of co-curricular lectures, seminars and workshops for international students whose first language is not English.

Research Interests

I am in the fourth year of my (part time) PhD within the School of the Built Environment. I am using interpretative Phenomenlogical Analysis to assess the barriers to timely completion of PhD study.
