Knowledge Exchange and Public Engagement

Students working in Clifford Whitworth Library

Through research, innovation, education and engagement, Salford Institute for Dementia is committed to enhancing the experience of living with dementia.

This is supported through regional, national and international collaborations with research teams and key industrial partners as well as our dementia associates and members of the public.

We have led a number of public engagement events that have showcased local dementia support initiatives and celebrated recent advancements in dementia research. We have contributed to science festivals, delivered outreach events in schools and colleges, hosted panel discussions and organised public lab tours.

Salford Institute for Dementia has also supported various industrial stakeholders (for example care home teams, architects, public service providers) in their journey to becoming 'dementia friendly' through the design and delivery of bespoke continued professional development conferences, training events and advisory sessions.

If you would like to work with us on a knowledge transfer/public engagement event or would like more information then please contact Dr Gemma Lace, Lead in Knowledge Exchange & Public Engagement.
