Life at Salford

We know university life isn’t all about studying – sometimes you have to have fun, too – and there are plenty of things to do outside of academia across our campuses.

From joining a club or society, to taking part in a gym class, to meeting up with friends for lunch in Atmosphere bar and café: when you're not working on your next assignment or research project, you can be enjoying the perks of being on campus.

Our state-of-the-art fitness hub, the Sports Centre, is located next to University House on the Peel Park Campus. The Sports Centre is home to our five Fitness Suites, including our excellent Functional Training Suite, a 25-metre swimming pool, multi-use sports hall, fitness studio and two squash courts.

Whether you are interested in swimming, going to the gym or exercise classes, the Sports Centre has something for you. All activities are offered at affordable rates for students and provide excellent value for money. For more information  please visit the sport website.

Our main library, Clifford Whitworth, offers bright, fresh, technology-enabled study areas with a variety of attractive work spaces which allow our students the freedom to learn in ways that feel natural and comfortable.

We provide access to a wide range of resources for research and learning. Our cutting-edge resource discovery tool, Library Search, allows access to all our academic resources from a single interface, including more than 348,000 books, 33,000 e-journals and 592,000 e-books and several special collections and archives.
