Campus catering official grand opening event and new Subway on Tuesday: Special offers all day

All the University communicated are invited to celebrate the official grand opening of our campus catering outlets and new Subway on Tuesday 24 November, following their new look reveal earlier this year.

The occasion will be marked by an official ribbon cutting ceremony in Maxwell Building at 10am with Stephen Talboys, Director of Estates & Property Services and Tim Priestman, Salfood Director.

There will be special offers, free cake and lots of free samples for you to try throughout the day.

Special Offers:

  • Subway are also running a special grand opening offer whereby colleagues will get a free 6” Sub with every 21oz drink purchased. This offer will run between 11am – 7pm. Full details of the offer can be found here.
  • Any purchase over £1 in Maxwell restaurant will receive a free eat in porridge between 8.15 – 11.15am.
  • Any purchase over £1 in Maxwell restaurant will receive a free eat in soup between 11.45am – 2.15pm.

The full day event is to celebrate the investment and partnership between the University and Salfood. The programme of works has seen huge improvements to catering provision on campus with the refurbishment of our outlets including the new look Maxwell restaurant and Allerton restaurant and Clifford Whitworth Library which were unveiled in September.

Stephen Talboys, Director of Estates & Property Services said “Over the last 12 months the University and Salfood have been working together to really make a difference to the look and feel of our restaurant and café environments across campus. This is our way of celebrating this partnership and thanking colleagues and students for their support during this time.”

Tim Priestman, added: “We’re really pleased to be working in partnership with the University and have invested heavily in our premises, catering team, menus and hospitality to create a first class experience for our colleagues and students.”
