The Acoustics Research Centre specialises in developing and implementing novel measurement methods for vibro-acoustics, mainly through Prof Andy Moorhouse and Dr Andy Elliott. Our main initiatives are novel methods for characterisation of structure-borne sound sources, virtual acoustic prototypes, isolator dynamic stiffness and transfer path analysis. We work extensively with industry, for example by supervising PhD research projects. Several of our initiatives have become standard measurement methods in industry (the in-situ blocked force method) and within European and International standards (EN12354, ISO18312 part 1 and 2)
