Welcome to the A-Gloves Trial website.

What is the A-Gloves Trial?

The A-Gloves Trial is a randomised control trial where we are want to understand how helpful arthritis gloves are for people with rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory arthritis.

What does A-Gloves stand for?

As we are testing Arthritis Gloves, we have come up with a short, easier to remember name of A-GLOVES.

Please view the information below to find out more about our Trial and how to contact us. You can also find us on twitter and facebook.

A-Gloves is a randomised controlled multi-centre trial comparing the effects of two different arthritis gloves.

We are looking at people with Rheumatoid Arthritis or Inflammatory Arthritis and persistent hand pain and want to understand:

  • Whether there is difference in hand pain during activity between patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis or Inflammatory Arthritis who receive either of the two gloves;
  • Whether there are differences in self-reported hand pain during activity, during the day at rest, at night, hand stiffness, and hand function; disability; adherence; and NHS costs;
  • Participants’ views of the effects of the two gloves.

The two arthritis gloves look like:
