This is a North West and Greater Manchester funded project (approximately £375,000) that has multiple areas:

  1. To appoint a Programme lead to lead on the development of the GM Clinical Placement capacity action plan and the overall bid
  2. To develop a GM Clinical Placement capacity action plan
  3. Clinical placement:
    1. To increase placement capacity across GM Primary care /Private and Voluntary Independent Organisation (PIVO)
    2. To increase placement capacity across GM Mental / PIVOs
    3. To increase placement capacity across GM Learning Disability / PIVOs
  4. Supporting Educator Faculty Development
    1. Develop an education programme encompassing the theoretical background of teaching and learning that promotes effective supervision and assessment across all organisations and a range of roles and responsibilities.
  5. Preparing for Future Nursing & Midwifery standards for student supervision and assessment
    1. To develop a GM framework for Practice Supervisors, Practice Assessors and Academic Assessors
    2. To develop a Be a GM Supervisor and Assessor campaign
    3. To develop a GM invasive / high risk clinical skills training log /passport and associated policy to underpin the NMC Future Nurse Standards of proficiency for Registered Nurses (NMC 2018) and Nursing Associates Standards of proficiency (NMC 2018)
  6. To educate the educators within practice
    1. To develop a GM framework for a  Multi-professional practice educator whose primary role responsibilities to upskill the existing registered workforce though application of innovative approaches to teaching and learning such as digital technologies.  The framework is targeted at professional education leads, Practice education Facilitators, medical Supervisors
  7. To evaluate the Place based pilot from a learner, supervisor /locality stakeholder perspective
  8. Evaluating the impact of the investment on the learning environment
