Our Facilities

A £2.5million University investment and collaboration with GE Healthcare has resulted in the Centre for Medical Imaging at The University of Salford with unrivalled clinical and simulation facilities. This includes:

  • Two static digital X-Ray systems.
  • One Optima digital mobile X-ray system.
  • A 3D Sonographe full field digital mammography system.
  • An Anatomage table for student learning and research.
  • A dedicated ultrasound suite comprising of five ultrasound scanners. Whilst ultrasound is taught at postgraduate level, as an undergraduate student you will get an introduction to the role ultrasound has as an imaging modality.
  • We are also one of the very few universities in the UK with access to a 16-slice Revolution Maxima CT scanner.

You will use our x-ray equipment during your first academic block and throughout the course to help you prepare you for clinical practice and to develop your skills as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
