The Northern Consortium

Students discussion

The Northern Consortium of UK universities (NCUK) is a group of 16 leading universities dedicated to giving international students guaranteed access to universities and helping students succeed when they get there. We are a proud university partner of NCUK. Since 1987, NCUK has helped over 1,300 students progress onto the University of Salford. Find out more below.

Preparatory Programmes

NCUK offers foundation and graduate pathway programmes, which are taught and quality-assured by its global network of study centres in over 18 countries. If you pass your NCUK qualification, you are guaranteed a place at an NCUK partner university.

If you need to take foundation level study or a pre-masters programme before entering an undergraduate or master’s degree here, you may want to take a preparatory programme at our on-campus English Language Centre. Alternatively, you can take a preparatory programme at one of the NCUK centres. Programmes from both organisations will guarantee entry here, as long as they are successfully completed to the required grades.

To apply for one of the NCUK preparatory programmes, contact your local teaching centre. Your application will then be handled by the local centre. A full list of contact details can be found on the NCUK website. NCUK also has a dedicated admissions and placement services team, who will support you at all stages of your application.
