Salford Students' Union Highly Commended at Educate North Awards 2022

Taking place at The Midland Hotel, the event celebrated our USSU as Highly Commended in the Students’ Union of the Year, and was celebrated for its innovation, engagement, support and exceptional student experience within the North of the United Kingdom.

Festus Robert, USSU President, said: “We are honoured to have been Highly Commended at the Educate North awards and proud to be recognised for our great work here at the University.

“The Students' Union is about bringing together our students and giving them the best possible student experience that we can, so to be considered for that amongst other universities is a great achievement in itself. A massive congratulations to everyone who got us to this point!”

Our USSU empowers students to confront and overcome barriers to learning. It works in partnership with the University to achieve positive change through various services including a student-run wellbeing service (Rafiki), sports clubs, societies, volunteering, course representation, advice, campaigning, restaurant, coffee shop and bar.

The Educate North Awards is a celebration of excellence and best practice in the education sector in the North of England. The event itself attracted over 300 education professionals from Further and Higher Education institutions from across the region.
