Welcome to Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors

Monday 4 March 2019

CONSTRUCTION students and staff have welcomed the relocation of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) to the University campus.

The prestigious institution RICS has chosen the University of Salford as its North West HQ strengthening an already mutually beneficial relationship between the two organisations.

The University is one of the largest educators of Chartered Surveyors in the UK  and the relocation will help support members – staff and student – through CPD and networking opportunities.

RICS supports 6,700 members across the region and works with businesses and government to ensure an expert voice is heard on a diverse range of issues, such as land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. RICS currently accredits the University of Salford’s School of the Built Environment  degrees and degree apprenticeships, across land, property and construction.

Victoria Hampson, RICS North & Midlands Regional Director, said: “RICS has a long and established relationship with the University of Salford’s School of the Built Environment and we are looking forward to continuing this commitment to providing high-quality surveying education for the future generation of surveyors.”

Jason Challender, Director of Estates and Facilities at the University said: “I am delighted to welcome the RICS to the University of Salford. As a member of RICS I know that the our ambitions are heavily aligned in terms of bridging the gap between academia and professional practice.

“Their presence on campus presents a great opportunity to drive the University’s Industry Collaboration agenda and facilitate close collaboration with the RICS as an institutional partner.”

The University of Salford is a leading trainer of surveyors, offering BSc in Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying, a MSc/PgDip in Quantity Surveying and a number of popular Degree Apprenticeships offered in partnership with regional employers.
