Open access makes the outputs of the University’s research activities freely available online. Providing unrestricted online access, wherever possible, to our publications will maximise visibility and accessibility and help realise their potential to make significant academic, economic, social and cultural impacts. Open Access is also a requirement for many research funders, including HEFCE, Research Councils UK and leading research charities.
The University makes research available through USIR (the University of Salford Institutional Repository). USIR currently holds more than 2,000 open access full-text research outputs which have been downloaded, on average, more than 1,000 times each.
