Salford and Pakistan

Salford students in the library

At the University of Salford, we are delighted to welcome large numbers of students from Pakistan and South Asia each year. Currently, over 100 Pakistani students are studying on our campuses, who are part of a total student body of over 20,000 students.

Greater Manchester has a large community of Pakistanis, as well as British people with Pakistani heritage, so you’ll find many people living here who speak Pakistani languages like Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi and Pashtu. Greater Manchester is also very well known for its great Pakistani restaurants, takeaways and shops selling Asian food.

our alumni community

When you graduate from Salford, you will join a global community of over 180,000 alumni making a positive impact in their communities. We will connect you with this community to provide networking opportunities, events and mentorship programmes. You can also get lifelong careers advice from us.

Our students love how friendly and diverse our community is, and that our location balances exciting city living with our spacious green campus.

All students are welcome to our faith centre on our campus for religious support and friendship. There are mosques and other places of worship nearby our campus.

Watch the video below to see more about student life from some of our current students from South Asia.
