Salford and Greece
At the University of Salford, we have a long history of welcoming students from Greece. Hellenic students currently make up our largest student group from anywhere in Europe. We also have hundreds of Greek alumni.
Salford and Manchester have long been home to Greek immigrants, and there is still a thriving community here today.
The Greater Manchester area is a great place to live. Being one of the largest student cities in Europe, you’ll never be short of something interesting to see and do here. There’s a brilliant nightlife scene, including pubs, bars and clubs – and of course you can see two of the world’s most famous football teams: Manchester United and Manchester City. You can find food from all over the world here and there are many Greek restaurants and takeaways where you can find authentic gyros, souvlaki, pies and more.
Salford is very easy to reach from Greece. You can fly direct from Athens or via various European hubs from other Greek airports. Our campus is within easy reach of Manchester International Airport by taxi or public transport.
Our students from Greece study a wide range of subjects, but popular options include business, management, finance, tourism, music, engineering, biological sciences, psychology, sports science and physiotherapy.
We have an extensive network of approved agents representing us in Greece, who will be able to assist you with your application to the University of Salford.
As one of our students, you don't just become a member of a student body, you will join our community. You will be taught by experts in their field who pride themselves on their links with industry. We look forward to welcoming you to the University of Salford.
