The University has been advised of UCU’s plan to take strike action on Tuesday 5 July in support of its dispute with the University and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) over the 2016/17 pay settlement.
Additionally, UCU instructed its members to commence ‘action short of strike’ (ASOS) with effect from 25 May in the form of working to contract and not working in excess of their contractual working hours or, as in our circumstances, where no hours are stipulated, 37 hours per week.
The current position is that the UCEA has made a final offer of 1.1% against UCU’s claim for 5%. Information concerning the pay negotiations is available on the UCEA website and we encourage you to review this information before you decide, as a UCU member, whether or not you will participate in the action. You can access this information by clicking here.
