Staff can access Counselling directly through our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) by the free, confidential telephone support helpline. This service can be accessed 24 hours a day. All enquiries are dealt with in the strictest confidence.

Counselling is available to all employees who are experiencing difficulties in their personal lives or workplace. These issues might include stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, loss, bereavement, relationship issues or departmental and career changes.

The EAP can provide counselling support in a couple of ways.  Telephone support is instantly available by phoning the number above. Calls are answered by qualified counsellors and dealt with in the strictest confidence.  

If you would prefer face-to-face counselling, then you only need to contact the number above and request the telephone counsellor to arrange face-to-face counselling.  You can determine whether you would like to visit a counsellor close to home or close to work. Your details will be taken and your appointed counsellor will telephone you to arrange the counselling sessions.

Via this service you will be able to access face-to-face counselling within 5 working days.

The University also provides on-site Counselling support which is delivered in the Crescent House building.
