*Due to the nature of apprenticeships and how they are funded (by the government and the employer), apprentices will not be eligible for student finance - this includes tuition fee loans and maintenance loans.
The government is committed to achieving three million apprenticeship starts by summer 2020. To fund the increase in apprenticeships, the government introduced an apprenticeship levy in April 2017.
Employers with pay bills of over £3 million, are now required to pay a levy which can only be reclaimed to fund Apprenticeship training.
